The students, staff, faculty, and pastor at Assumption School welcome you to our school. We would like you to gain a full picture of what we have to offer your child. As part of your school’s visit, you have the opportunity to visit with teachers and the principal. Below are some quick summaries of the school’s environment:
Our Students: At Assumption School, you join a community with a student enrollment of approximately 120 students in grades Kindergarten through 8th grade.
Our Learning Environment: To encourage a professional learning environment for your child, a dress code with school uniform is maintained. To encourage a safe environment for your child, we follow the Discipline with Dignity discipline program. We emphasize the dignity of each child with the rationale behind appropriate behavior. We provide Prayer Buddies to connect older students with younger students in a mentoring relationship. We are family!
Our Proven Results: We evidence an excellence in academics in our standardized test scores that are above the national average. If a child needs additional help, resources are available from a qualified team of teachers who provide remedial and enrichment resources.
Our Faculty: We have 9 full-time teachers, 5 part-time teachers and a part-time Reading Specialist, Speech Therapist, Counselor, and Nurse; in addition. This qualified team of professionals is committed to academic success and overall personal wellness.
Our Catholic Identity: Our student body is comprised primarily of children from the Roman Catholic faith tradition; however, students from all faith traditions regularly enroll. If you are a non-Catholic and would like to speak with one of our Non-Catholic families, please let us know. We would be happy to make that connection.
Children participate in liturgies, preparation for the sacraments, daily prayer and meditation, and school service as part of our school’s emphasis on spiritual development. Students experience many different projects throughout the year.
Our Families: As part of the Assumption School family, you join a community committed to building a caring, loving, and supportive environment. We have an active APTG (Parent-Teacher Guild) and countless volunteer opportunities for our parents and friends to fit every schedule and talent.
