A Better Use for Your
State Tax Dollars....
· Wouldn’t you love to divert you state taxes to a really good cause: Catholic education in your community?
· PA’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) Program provides a tax credit of up to 90% for companies that donate to approved non-profit scholarship organizations in the Commonwealth.
· Since 2001 the Diocese of Pittsburgh has raised over $18 million from 220 companies for its Scholastic Opportunity Scholarship (SOS) fund.
Since companies pay state taxes anyway, consider directing those taxes to our school, and help strengthen our local community at the same time!
It is a simple process that includes a one page form. We currently have three companies participating and an accountant has offered to answer any questions, or describe their experience. There is little to no cost and depending on your corporate structure (S-Corp, C-Corp, doctor, lawyer, or Partnership), and it could even increase your profit by a few hundred dollars. The only qualification is that you pay state taxes. Examples of the state taxes include:
Corporate Net Income Tax
* Capital Stock & Franchise Tax
* Bank and Trust Company Shares Tax
* Title Insurance Companies Shares Tax
* Insurance Premiums Tax
* Mutual Thrift Institutions Tax
* Personal Income Tax of S Corp shareholders and Partnership partners in a general or limited partnership
Do you pay any of those taxes?
If so, we are asking you to please participate in the program by filling out the one page application to be an approved company and to defer your taxes to Assumption School. Other churches in the Diocese have received business tax deferrals of up to $300,000 per year to help pay tuition for a Catholic education. There is no catch.
